dafeng chimney lighting (2022).
lighting design idea for 2 old stone chimneys at holland eco village dapeng, jiangsu province. our idea was to come with 2 options. both options will have a round LED-screen (showing a clock on 4 sides) at half-height of the chimney & lasers on top. option 1 has up- & down-lights, option 2 has small LED lights in a pattern around the chimney. 3D lighting design idea & video animation.

design idea for 3 old windmills at holland eco village dapeng, jiangsu province. windmill no.1 is square shaped (with water-wheel) and has a hotel-room inside. windmill no.2 also has a hotel-room inside. windmill no.3 has an extra floor with viewing platform and can be used as coffee-shop. 3D-design idea, interior design idea & 2D-CAD drawings. project built.

dafeng hotel green facade (2021).
design idea for a facade & roof improvement of a new hotel at holland eco village dapeng, jiangsu province. to improve the facade our idea was to put a lot of small planters with green plants on the edges of the balconies. to improve the roof our idea was to place 2 bigger classical domes at the center parts and 4 smaller domes on the corners of the roof. 3D design & 2D-CAD drawings.

dafeng drawbridge design (2021).
design idea for an old drawbridge at holland eco village dapeng, jiangsu province. the design was based on old bridges in amsterdam & haarlem. the bridge was built using steel/concrete instead of wood. there are 2 electro-motors to pull-open the bridge. 3D-design idea, 3D-model, led-lighting design idea, electro-motors design idea & 2D-CAD drawings. project built.

dafeng greenhouse interior (2022).
interior design idea (option 2) for a tulip green-house at holland eco village dapeng, jiangsu province. there is space for 858m2 of small shops selling flowers, a workshop space of 63 m2 and catering 253 m2. a new footbridge will go over the shops. at the center is a space with water and nearby is a huge new sunflower scupture. 3D-design idea, video animation & 2D-CAD drawings.

shenzhen eco leisure bridge (2022).
concept design idea for meilin mountain - yinhu mountain eco leisure bridge, between shenzhen's futian & longhua district. the center-part of the bridge (150 meter long) is a green corridor between the 2 mountains for animals to forage, mate & migrate. the 3 side parts are for hikers for crossing the highway and will bring them to different levels. competition entry.

shenzhen liuxiandong towers (2021).
concept design idea for a headquarter base, incl. an office tower (300m), apartment tower (200m), hotel tower (150m), plinth building for commercial and a services building. located at liuxiandong headquarters base, nanshan district, shenzhen, near the DJI sky city building and chuangzhi cloud city. GFA above ground 284,459 m2, site 21,356 m2. competition entry.

shenzhen soundwave tower (2021).
concept design idea for a headquarter office tower (100m) for a micro acoustics technology enterprise located at houhai business center, close to shenzhen bay. our idea was to come with a shape that has 2 columns of planters that sticks out of the facade on two sides and 2 vertical grooves on the other sides. tower 35,119 m2, site 4,596 m2. competition entry.

futian ridge tower (2021).
concept design idea for an office high-rise tower (220m) for one of the largest and earliest modern circulation key enterprises at futian central district of shenzhen, close to the civic center. our design idea was to come with a dark glazing tower and hanging plinth building with on 2 sides planters for small trees. tower 94,265 m2,
site 4,499 m2. competition entry.

shenzhen green-ridge tower (2021).
concept design idea for an office tower (100m) located at houhai close to shenzhen bay. our design idea was to combine a box-shape building with the bamboo-shape tower, the result is an organic shape that starts as a box and transforms to the top as a round shape. on 2 sides are planters: close to nature. tower 40,900 m2,
site 4,144 m2. competition final stage.

shenzhen-bay houhai hq-tower (2020).
concept design idea for an office tower (60m) for a hi-tech company located close to shenzhen bay at houhai business head-quarters of nanshan district, shenzhen and close to the shenzhen-bay sport center. the top floor will have two green balconies, the roof-floor will have a garden, both with shenzhen-bay view. tower 32,400 m2, site 3,958 m2. competition entry.

office sculptures (2020).
concept design idea for sculptures at the first floor (and top-floors) of a hi-tech office-tower. our idea was to use mobius & klein-surface rings, a strong endless-loop shape that looks like a cloud and is showing 'connection'. the sculpture language is a fluidic design, the shape is inspired by nature's elements. the themes are mountain, flower & cloud.

science park entrance gate (2020).
concept design idea for an entrance gate and a security duty room at an extention of a science park in hunan. the hi-tech park has factory, office & villa buildings. the entrance gate is red, it will be used to display text & logo (with lighting) and will guide cars, goods-cars & people to enter the park at this location. the entrance gate can be closed with an electric sliding gate. 3D&2D-CAD.

shenzhen-bay houhai center (2020).
concept design idea for an office tower for an emerging hi-tech & internet company located close to shenzhen bay at houhai business finance headquarters of nanshan district, shenzhen. the podium building will have a green garden. the tower will have green balconies on 2 sides in order to create hanging gardens, close to nature. 62,600 m2. competition entry.

shenzhen-bay houhai hq-tower (2020).
concept design idea for a digital animation film and television base headquarters tower (150m). located in the central area of houhai (on coastal reclaimed land), nanshan district, shenzhen. functions include office, commerce, conference, new product display & restaurant. the building shape is organic with green balconies. 45,000 m2. competition entry.

shenzhen-bay hq-base (2020).
concept design idea for an international center on the shenzhen bay with 2 super-high-rise apartment towers (300m & 250m), 2 office towers (150m & 60m) and 8 low-office buildings for headquarter office of leading enterprices. the high-rise towers will have green balconies in order to create hanging gardens. total 446,718 m2, site 92,372 m2. competition entry.

changsha fonyu towers (2020).
concept design idea for 3 new 150m hi-rise towers for offices at low-zone, hotel at mid-zone and luxury apartments at high-zone. the organic shape of the tower is the result of parametric design, including a square meter & efficiency check for all floors. the location of the structural columns can be behind the curtain wall profiles or optional on top of the basement grid.

changsha south (2020). concept
design idea for a multi-functional theater, an art education center, a film & tv industry center with live-house roof top, an exhibition center, a 150m hi-rise tower for office, hotel and luxury apartments and 2-level underground car-park. located just south-east of the changsha south-railway/maglev station with nearby subway & elevated road as part of the hi-speed rail new city project.

shenzhen baoan south (2020).
urban planning design idea for a new digital film production industry park. 10 virtual digital studio stage buildings, an underwater photography studio with 3 water tanks, studio's for sound effects, clothing, scene set, post production, animation production and an equipment leasing & digital asset center. including a basement for car park and space for shops & restaurants.

chongqing multi-use (2019).
design idea for a new multi-use building for culture & sport. a shared entrance & lobby are combining indoor sport-fields and a theater. the indoor sport-part can be used for basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton. the theater (544 seats (including vip- & balcony seats)) can also be used as music hall and cinema. the building shape is organic, as it was sculpted by wind & rain.

chongqing blob (2019).
design idea for a semi-transparant blob-shape structure (3200 m2) for indoor sport. the sport-blob is situated near a new park with outdoor sport fields. the blob will cover 4 indoor sport courts (for tennis, volleyball, basketball and badminton). the nearby park will have an outdoor tennis court, 2 basketball courts, 2 small skateboard half-tubes and a central place for tai chi.

shenzhen baoan (2019). urban
planning idea for a new cultural office park including a hi-tech production base, service centers, conference center, multi-functional shopping center with exhibition space & private museum, apartments, hotel, restaurants, small shops & sculptures. all buildings will be placed around a new park-like space. nearby old-shenzhen so-called handshake buildings will have park view.

suzhou skylight design (2019).
a new skylight for the roof of an existing high-rise building in the city center. suzhou flower-window frames are used as decoration on the inside of the skylight. including an interor design idea for the floor below the skylight with a lobby, a sculpture, a seating area, a meeting room and sales space, a new stair to the roof and on the roof a platform to enjoy the city view.

suzhou silk city sky-garden (2019).
roof design idea for an existing high-rise building in the city center with as theme 'silk & suzhou'. a wooden terrace with at the center a glass-box bar and with planters & benches. 2 spiral stairs are leading to a sky-walk with 2 glass-floor parts. all windows have long tables with bar-stools. there is also live music. a place to enjoy the city view, have a drink and take a rest.

city of no-traffic jam (2019).
design idea for a new city plan. in the city of no-traffic jam a double bus track is used to create a continuous circulation. roundabouts with the bus track in the centre and with seperate fly-over ramps for pedestrian & bicycles are used to cross the inner- and outer ring road of the city, from suburb to city centre. no zebra pedestrian crossings & traffic lights are used in this new city plan.

new courtyard house (2019).
design idea update for a new si he yuan house, a type of chinese residence with a fully enclosed courtyard. 12 normal rooms and in the 2-floor master house 2 master rooms, a dining room and a meeting room (all rooms including interior/furniture design). all rooms will have 1 aircon indoor- & outdoor unit, 2 ceiling-fans and roof-lights. including courtyard & small garden design.

urban planning for an extention of an industrial park with 3 new factories, 4 distribution centers, 7 research & development centers (connected with bridges), 12 new housing buildings, a bar-street with 3 restaurant/bar/fitness buildings, 4 courtyard house buildings, outdoor sport fields and landscape design (including point-cloud 3D-model research).

hunan new courtyard house (2018).
design idea for a new si he yuan house, a type of chinese residence with a fully enclosed courtyard. a house with 8 rooms (including interior/furniture design) in the style of a traditional house but with less decoration and using new materials. green design: no aircon-units, all rooms will have ceiling-fans. flexible design: modules, easy to expand design to double courtyard house.

hunan music town (2018). design idea
for a new multi-use building. main functions: conference center, concert hall, music museum, learning center, class rooms, research space with acoustig lab & restaurant. landscape design & 5 courtyard houses with guest rooms. design idea for a trip of great musical experience. a place where music lovers & acoustic engineers will meet and share their knowledge.

mobius-ring sculpture (2018).
design idea for a new sculpture, based on our cloud-sculptures. a mobius ring showing an endless loop. the pattern on the ring with crossing lines and holes is creating a space where everything is connected. the different colors of blue will give the shape a stronger 3D-feeling. variations can be made, more holes, less holes but this one seems the strongest shape.

hunan concert hall (2018). design idea
for a new multi-use concert hall, a cultural building with a stage that can be used for music performances and an auditorium with seats for visitors. the concert hall can also be used for other activities, such as theatre performances (beijing opera), academic presentations, movie cinema and for example university graduation ceremonies or company new product presentations.

shenzhen cloud-sculptures (2018).
design philosophy cloud-sculptures: the cloud-sculptures are showing an endless loop in the shape of a cloud, a symbolic mobius ring. the pattern on the cloud with abstract blobs and holes is creating a space where everything is connected and interactive. the language is fluidic design, the shape is inspired by nature's elements. the sculpture shape is simple but strong.

shanghai meeting rooms (2017).
re-design of one big and one small meeting room, a vip waiting room and a lecture room with a stage. the idea was to use an open lowered frame as ceiling in order to cover existing sprinkler pipes and new sound-absorbing panels. lighting fixture positions are adjustable. the build-in speakers of the tv-screens can be used in combination with the portable table microphones.

hunan industrial park (2017).
design idea for the main entrance gate of the park (portal with signage, guard cabin, sliding barrier), entrance of the main building (canopy, sliding doors), interior design idea for the lobby (front desk, ceiling) & product display room & meeting rooms (furniture, flooring, ceiling) of the main building, garden design (stone garden, plants & trees proposal). 3D&2D-CAD. project built.

shenzhen cloud-bench sculptures
(2017). the idea was to design a landscape bench for a new hq building and connect the bench with cloud shapes, a network of lines. the cloud shapes on top of the bench will give shading areas by blocking partly direct sunlight. the cloud-bench is one piece and is a sculpture with a shaded seat-function. shape: organic. proposed material: stacked wood slices with metallic car-paint.

interior design idea for an apartment. the idea was to create a private space with an industrial look. used materials are raw looking concrete with metal and wood. the lighting is warm-yellow. the design idea includes finishing and furniture for all rooms. the proposed colors are gray/yellow.

shanghai east-bund - concept design
idea 3 light-towers (2016). design idea for 3 of the 24 new light-towers along a 21 kilometer long public-space part of the huangpu river east-bund. ground floor: small shop selling ice-creams and soft drinks, coffee-bar with stools, stair to top floor, info-panel, seats, bike racks to store bikes. top floor: site seeing platform, seats, stair to ground floor, search-light. height: 18m.

interior design idea for office lobby
(2016). an interior design idea for the ground floor of a new hq building. the idea was to make the ground floor as bright as possible and give it a 'clean' look and feel by using simple colors and materials. this will fit with the image of the company. on the ground floor is an info desk with waiting area, an exhibition space, a restaurant and at the back are meeting rooms.

design idea for new football stadium (2016).
a design idea for a mega-structure football stadium for the city of rotterdam, as a larger alternative for the stadium that was already planned. fonyu stadium: 121.078 seats. the roof can be closed with 2 sliding roof parts. the steel roof structure is supported by steel tripod columns. roof material: semi-transparent canvas. facade material: netting with transparent led-media facade.

dji store shenzhen - interior design
idea for 3F & 4F (2016).
interior design idea for 2 top floors of the shenzhen tourist information center building. main functions on 3F: robomasters battle field, dji story videos, drone flight simulators, race car simulators. main functions on 4F: new product presentation / lecture / training room, drone demo flight, VIP reception and a photo exhibition area. 1F is the dji store.

four b&b houses (2016).
design idea for four double-room b&b family houses around the courtyard of a traditional Chinese house. our design idea was to create four free-standing double-room hotel room-like family houses. the double rooms share the enterance/breakfast room. the small sleeping room is for parents or children. the big sleeping room has a workspace and a small kitchen.

shanghai glass box bar (2016).
design idea for a glass box bar inside the courtyard of a traditional Chinese house. the courtyard house will be used for f&b but the interior spaces are small. our design idea was to create a new modern looking small space from steel and glass. it can be used at daytime as coffee bar and in the evening as wine bar. new stairs are leading to offices and b&b family houses.

shanghai espace songjiang (2016).
design idea for 3 new buildings (14,000 m2) for an existing office park, including 1 exhibition floor, a restaurant, green terraces, roof gardens, roof tennis court, a platform with 4 b&b family houses, 7 bridges and re-use of a traditional Chinese courtyard house for f&b with a new glass box bar in one of the courtyards, 2 sculptures and an optional basement for car parking.

office buildings (2016).
design idea for 3 office buildings for an existing office park. each floor layout is flexible, it can have 1 big office or 2 or 3 small offices. the core has 2 lifts, 1 lift is a combined goods/fire lift with at ground floor a door to the outside. because most of these offices are using computers, the facade design idea was to block direct sunlight as much as possible.

parametric tower: the input for our
software is a single mesh shape and a table with functions & floor heights. this will be used to auto-generate a complete 3D-model including: -planar glazing panels; -curtain wall profiles; -segmented floor slabs; -tapered columns; -outer core walls; -ceilings;
the 3D-model can be used to auto-generate 2D-layouts with floor plans, incl. m2.

entrance gate: a sculpture-like entrance gate proposal for a theme park. the idea was to create a time tunnel with a lot of interior light. walk to the light, walk through the light and end-up in a new world (the park). the shape of the gate looks complex but was made by lofting one single section curve over 2 path-curves. the section has 5 recessed (hidden) half-circular strips of lighting fixtures.

parametric organic bone shape:
-sculptures; -transforming organic bone shapes applicable to architecture; -parametric mountain terrain; these are examples of a modeling method in which a 3D-model is generated by writing software with as input for modeling random numbers. a design idea was needed in order to write the software. random numbers are only generating random variations of a design.

box to blob: a blob shape proposal for
a theme park. the idea was to create a blob shape in order to cover a virtual box building of 104x108 meter. the ground curve of the blob shape is following the road of the master-plan. the line pattern of the blob shape was created by projecting a row of ‘new-moon’ shaped curves over the blob by using more than one view angles. the proposed material was metal in two colors.

small blob: a proposal of a small blob
shape metro entrance cover. the L-shape was the result of combining and covering existing stairs and escalators in the landscape. the small blob shape can also be used to cover other functions. by closing the entrance portal of the small blob shape with glazing, it can be used as a small shop, with one glass shop front with entrance door, one escape- & storage room door.

skylight & dome: this proposal for a
dome is based on a lattice dome, 2 sets of diagonal beams are replacing the lines of longitude and forming a series of triangles. the exceptions are the squares, they make the dome more interesting and are helping to avoid triangular shaped glazing with angles too small to cut. the v-shaped steel beams are round bended, the glazing profiles on top of the beams are segmented.

foot bridge & courtyard glass roof:
a proposal for an existing shopping mall. the foot bridge is an example of design in detail, the detailed 3D-model is an extrusion of a detailed 2D-section. the design of the bridge started with a detail. the courtyard glass roof was the result of parametric modeling by using a timer and force. the idea for the shape of the glass roof was that rain water always will end-up at one point on one side.

entrance study: this proposal is an
example of building detailed 3D-models. the idea was to make the entrance of an atrium between two building as transparent as possible by using hanging glazing panels, a glass roof and two fully glazed revolving doors. by modeling the structure in 3D, all issues can be viewed from all directions and can be solved. the final building option can be based on an economic decision.

airport pop-up office: waiting at the
gate to board the airplane. you want to work on your laptop. there are no tables. you can’t find a plug to charge your phone and laptop. public wifi is too slow to receive emails attachments. a proposal for a pop-up office (78 m2, 22 persons). scan the code to become a member. -8 desks for working;
-3 double tables with 6 seats for meetings or working; -4 stand tables for working.
